Prompt gamma rays from fast neutron inelastic scattering on aluminum, titanium and copper

Abstract Prompt gamma rays induced by inelastic scattering of fast neutrons on aluminum, titanium and copper were measured at an angle 90 o between neutron beam detector the instrument FaNGaS, operated Jülich Centre Neutron Science Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum in Garching. The flux was 1.40 10 8 cm −2 s −1 with average energy 2.30 MeV. Intensities spectrum averaged isotopic partial cross section for production 214 lines (22 72 120 copper) are presented. results consistent literature data. However, new sets recommended to replace old datasets from reactors several also recognizing a few false identifications. Additionally, detection limits titanium, copper, iron indium determined as 1.0, 0.4, 0.9, 0.5 1.3 mg, respectively, counting time 12 h.
